Hotel description
The Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao is located opposite the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, and certainly bears the prints of such a neighbour. The original style of architecture and design, which represents the various cultural trends of the twentieth century, has been translated into this hotel by the designer Javier Mariscal and the architect Fernando Salas. With no exception, the details here are harmonized with each other: the dark tree and stone walls, furniture and dishes were all created by the special order of Mariscal and Salas, and the interior of each hotel number reflects the artistic handwriting of its founders. At their quest, the interior accommodation of the hotel is as if it was " falling " to isolated fragments, each of which has its own colour gamma, which means its own spirit, its own individuality. Such “fragmentality”, however, does not violate the inner harmony of the hotel, its integrity and organizationality. The restaurant, the cafe, the bar, the library, the terrace, the inner palace with a great “camular sculpture”, a sculpture of 90 tons and a metal grid that reaches a height of 26 metres, all of which are so different in each other, form a fascinating unity, combining and playing paints in a holistic postmos.
