Hotel description

The name of the Amankora hotel complex is made up of two languages - Sanskrit and Bhutanese. In Sanskrit, the word "Aman" means "peace", from Bhutanese "kora" is translated as "wandering pilgrim". The hotel complex "World of Wandering Pilgrims" consists of 5 small cozy boutique hotels. Each hotel has from 8 to 29 rooms and is located in a gorge lost in the shadow of the Himalayan Mountains.

Thimphu - the capital of Bhutan is located at an altitude of 2500 m above sea level, an hour and a half drive from the international airport. Thimphu is famous for its ancient monasteries and temples. The city has many beautiful houses with brightly decorated facades and spires rising into the sky, giving the capital a charming medieval flavor.

The Amankora Thimphu hotel is located in a cozy valley between pine-covered mountains. It is built in the style of a traditional Buddhist dzong fortress. This is probably the most comfortable and impressive hotel from the Amankora complex. It is located in a very quiet and cozy place, at the same time within walking distance from the shops and boutiques of noisy Thimphu.

The hotel has only 16 luxury rooms.

All of them are spacious, made in an ascetic Buddhist style from natural materials. Minimalism, naturalness and at the same time concern for the maximum comfort of the guest - this ideology of the Aman chain is reflected in the design of the rooms of this cozy mountain hotel. The walls of the rooms are covered with panels of natural wood in calm light shades. Each room also has a Bukhari, a traditional Bhutanese wood-burning stove. The seamless mosaic floor in the bathroom - terrazzo - is made exclusively from natural materials. The bathroom will definitely have a double vanity, shower and toilet. The room itself has a cozy living area with armchairs by the window, so that you can enjoy the truly fabulous beauty of the local nature in privacy.

All this, and in addition the special aura of the Himalayas will bring peace, harmony and relaxation to your holiday in Bhutan.
