Hotel description
Grand Hotel Savoia Cortina d’Ampezzo, A Radisson Collection Hotel is a historic five-star hotel built in 1912 at the foot of the Dolomites. It stands in the centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo, one of Italy’s best-known mountain destinations, where ski slopes, alpine trails and dramatic landscapes meet the town’s shops, restaurants and cultural life. Throughout its long history, the hotel has welcomed political leaders, members of European royalty and film stars, including Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Sophia Loren and Charlton Heston.
Following its renovation, Grand Hotel Savoia retains the character of a classic grand hotel while introducing contemporary interiors and Radisson Collection services. Guests can choose from 132 rooms and suites, many overlooking the Dolomites. Interiors have a timeless modern style, while selected categories feature decorative fireplaces and sitting areas positioned to make the most of the mountain views. The hotel is suited to winter ski holidays as well as summer stays shaped by hiking, cycling and excursions around the region.
The 750-square-metre Savoia Spa includes a heated indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam bath and treatments using naturally sourced oils. Savoy Restaurant presents a contemporary interpretation of Italian cuisine and the culinary traditions of the Dolomites, while 1224 Bar Lounge & Terrace serves drinks and light meals accompanied by mountain views. The concierge can arrange transfers, private ski instructors, mountain guides, heli-skiing, guided hikes and other outdoor activities. Three event spaces, including the Dolomia Ballroom for up to 300 guests, are available for conferences, weddings and private celebrations.
The hotel offers 132 renovated rooms and suites designed in an elegant contemporary style. The surrounding mountains form an important part of the interiors: many categories overlook the Dolomites, while sitting areas beside the windows allow guests to enjoy the landscape from inside. Selected rooms also feature decorative fireplaces. Accommodation ranges from Collection Rooms for two guests to the Royal Suite Savoia for up to five people, with different bed configurations and amounts of living space. Connecting rooms are available for families and groups.
