Tours in Fiji

Tailor-made journeys through Fiji

Fiji is a South Pacific archipelago where beach stays can be combined with diving, tropical forests and living island traditions. Resorts differ considerably in location, coastline and transfer arrangements, so most journeys are best designed around one or two regions.

The Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands

The Mamanuca Islands are the most accessible from Nadi International Airport. Resorts can be reached from Port Denarau by catamaran, speedboat, seaplane or helicopter. The region is known for clear lagoons, sandy beaches, coral reefs and resorts suited to both family journeys and romantic escapes.

The Yasawa Islands lie farther from the main island and have a more dramatic landscape. Days can include boat journeys, snorkelling, diving and a visit to the Sawa-i-Lau caves. The longer transfer should be considered when selecting international flights and deciding how many nights to stay.

Taveuni and the underwater world

Taveuni suits travellers who want to combine the ocean with tropical nature. The island is known for rainforest trails, waterfalls and its proximity to Rainbow Reef, one of Fiji’s recognised diving areas. Flights and onward boat transfers need to be coordinated with the resort schedule.

Diving is possible throughout the year, although visibility, currents and sea conditions vary by season and location. Programmes should be selected according to each guest’s certification and experience.

Fijian culture

A village visit provides an introduction to the kava ceremony, meke performances and local customs. These experiences follow established protocols, including modest clothing, respect for village elders and an arranged order of arrival. On many islands, cultural programmes are organised in partnership with the surrounding communities.

When to travel and how to plan the route

May to October is generally cooler and drier, with lower humidity. November to April brings warmer weather, heavier rainfall and a greater possibility of tropical cyclones. Current forecasts should always be checked before travel.

A stay on one island deserves at least five to seven nights. Combining two regions usually requires ten to fourteen days and carefully coordinated flights or sea transfers. A late arrival in Nadi may require an overnight stay on Viti Levu before continuing to an outer-island resort.
