Tailor-made journeys through Qatar

Qatar works well for a short cultural journey, a beach holiday or a stopover on the way to Asia and the Indian Ocean. Contemporary architecture, traditional markets, museums, desert landscapes and resorts along the Arabian Gulf are all within easy reach of Doha.

Doha: museums, architecture and traditions

A journey through the capital can begin at the National Museum of Qatar and the Museum of Islamic Art. Their collections explore the country’s history, maritime trade, pearl diving and the wider heritage of the Islamic world.

The itinerary may continue to Souq Waqif, Katara Cultural Village and Doha’s waterfront. A traditional boat journey across the bay, visits to art collections and dinner at one of the city’s leading restaurants can also be included.

Beach stays on the Arabian Gulf

Doha’s beachfront hotels offer spacious rooms, swimming pools, restaurants and direct access to the sea. Families may prefer a gently shelving beach, children’s activities and easy access to the city’s main attractions. Couples can choose hotels with dedicated beach areas and rooms overlooking the Gulf.

Qatar can also be combined with the Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius or a longer journey through Asia.

The desert and Inland Sea

One of Qatar’s signature experiences is a journey across the dunes to the Inland Sea. The trip takes several hours and is arranged in a suitable vehicle with an experienced driver. Travellers can choose a daytime excursion or end the journey with dinner among the dunes.

When to visit Qatar

November to March usually brings the most comfortable conditions for walking, sightseeing and desert journeys. Summer is extremely hot, so itineraries are better focused on beach hotels, museums, restaurants and indoor attractions. Beachfront hotels and Inland Sea journeys should be arranged in advance during the busiest travel periods.
