The Cheltenham Ladyis College was founded in 1853. Since its inception and over 50 years of existence, the school has evolved under the direction of Ms. Dorothy Beale. Ms. Dorothy Bill is a strong supporter that girls ' education is as important as boys ' education. In 1873, the school moved to new buildings. Many changes have been made since schooling. Thus, to date, the school is well equipped. Conditions have been created for art, technology, drama, editorial activities. There is also a sports hall with a pool and an art center equipped with the last word of equipment. Dormitories are located close enough to classrooms, within 10 minutes on foot.

The school is dominated by a warm and harmonious atmosphere, with individual attention to each student, cultural education, academic progress and well-being. School staff are highly qualified staff. To date, the school is offering an international bachelorate (IB)

Training in Cheltenham Ladies' College

Basic age of income: 11, 12, 13 and 16 years. Entrance examinations are required for school enrolment. For advanced levels, examinations and assessments A need to be passed for more than six GCSE examinations, including subjects selected for advanced (or equivalents).

College offers 24 examination subjects. Advanced: 70 per cent of pupils choose A-level, 30 per cent choose IB. No general education. Key skills are included in advanced subjects. Professional: there is room for experience.

Languages: French, German, Italian, modern Chinese and Spanish. Information and communication technologies: taught as a separate subject and included in individual subjects. All computers are connected to the local network and have access to e-mail and Internet; laptops can be used. There are opportunities for music, drama, art and design.

Examination results: For secondary education (GCSE): 139 pupils in 11 years of schooling received at least an estimate of C, with an average of 10 subjects. Advanced level: 160 pupils in the last year of study gave an average of 3.5 subjects, with a final score of 451. After the college, graduates go to higher education 99% (sometimes a year). Of these, 17% go to Oxford and Cambridge universities and 5 per cent not to British universities, 7 per cent to be selected

Arts in Cheltenham Ladies' College

Music: 65 per cent of pupils learn to play a musical instrument; an instrumental examination can be passed. Various musical groups include 2 symphony orchestras, 2 string bands, 5 choirs, jazz group, rock group, ensembly (Clarnet, guitar, saxophone).

Drama: Drama is proposed as part of the curriculum or as additional classes. You can pass the GCSE, A-level and IB Drama exams. Also the Examination of the London Academy of Music and Dramaturgia (LAMDA) and the Gildhall Examination. The Cheltenhem Leidis School has various plays, festivals and competitions. There are also courses on light and sound, public speech and debate, video production.

Arts and design: 50 pupils give up GCSE, 17 give A-level. The history of art, ceramic, sculpture, graviour and silkography can be further studied. The College organizes visits to museums and galleries and a weekend devoted to paintings. Girls often gain access to art and architecture rating schools.

Sport in Cheltenham Ladies College

Sport: Hokkei, lacrosse, nobol, gymnastics, dances, tennis, swimming, athletics, rounders, cricket and many others. There's also budminton, basketball, biker and canoe, crossroads, soccer, polo, top ride, ridge, sea, ski, squash, volleyball, bout, Windsurfing. Students represent school at different levels and sports.

Activities: Duke of Edinburgh award programme. At an advanced level, girls are actively involved in public activities. Cheltenheim Leidiz is cooperating with schools in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand. Expeditions to South America, Africa and Iceland are organized.

More than 80 clubs work in the school: chess, computer programming, dances, debates, drama, environment, fencing, golf, international clubs, journalism, health and arts club, United Nations model, music, science, philosophy, street dances, youth club

School life in Cheltenham Ladies' College

Religion: There are no special requirements for religious skills, but the school is Christian, which means a daily visit to the church. On Sundays, a visit to the church is compulsory for pupils living in the residence of the school, with the exception of advanced students. School is compulsory. School life: The school chooses a senior. All girls have responsibilities. There's a school forum.

Social life: Joint choir speeches, drama, debates, dances, evenings with other schools. Every year, a French student exchange is organized in Annesi, other visits to France (e.g. arts), sports tours, cruises, cultural events and expeditions to South Africa. Survival in Cheltenham Ladies College

All advanced students live in single rooms. 25% of junior students live in rooms for 6 people. Each house has about 65 people. Advanced students live in separate dormitories. There's always a qualified nurse in the board. In the course of the year, it is possible to leave school four times and on Sundays following a visit to the church. Students of all ages are allowed to leave the nearby town on a weekly basis; senior students are allowed to visit the city every day.

Discipline in Cheltenham Ladies' College

Girls who haven't done their homework once will be reprimanded. No alcohol at school. Any student who has been seen smoking in the school will be assigned. All forms of grandparents or discrimination are prohibited in school.
