SEYCHELLES. DISCOVER A NEW WAY
In Colonial Luxury
Imagine being welcomed to your own villa amidst a lush garden on Praslin Island. Such a place exists, and it's La Cigale Estate. Mountains loom in the distance. A two-kilometer beach stretches at your feet.
The building, with its colonial façades, majestic steps, and colonnade, was built in 2022 according to a design by a local architect. It features handcrafted furniture by local artisans and works of art by local artists. This mansion can safely be described as "Made in Seychelles," and the result is stunning.
The house features a gym with Technogym equipment, a cinema/dance floor, and a wine cellar. Swimming pools—one for the whole family and one for children—are nearby. And the ocean here is so clear and calm that children will love swimming. Water activities, yacht trips, and visits to national parks are also available.
Guests are served by a team of 25 people: butlers, cooks, a sous-chef, a baker (fresh pastries in the morning are always welcome), a mixologist, a spa therapist, a massage therapist, and security guards. Led by a manager with experience in luxury hotels in Positano and Phuket, the service here is top-notch.
Cruising on the Spirit of Ponant The new
catamaran Spirit of Ponant invites you on a year-round journey through the most beautiful corners of the Seychelles. Accommodations for 12 guests are also available for charter for a romantic couple or family, allowing you to enjoy world-class service in the privacy of your own yacht. Ponant experts provide the menu, wine list, onboard activities, and excursions. You'll visit marine national parks and a bird sanctuary, swim with whale sharks, dolphins, and sea turtles, observe Aldabra giant tortoises in the shade of Seychelles coco de mer palms, explore Victoria's colonial heritage, enjoy hiking in Morne Seychellois National Park, learn to cook traditional Seychelles dishes, and, of course, relax on the best Seychelles beaches.
Paired with Zanzibar on Aqua Lares
Aqua Expeditions' first superyacht in the region, Aqua Lares, will offer Seychelles and Tanzania cruises starting in 2026. You'll visit the remote Outer Islands of the Seychelles, rarely seen by anyone, and Zanzibar. You'll also visit the UNESCO-protected Aldabra Atoll, home to the world's largest population of giant tortoises: the combined population of over 100,000 tortoises on the atoll's four islands. Swim with manta rays and the fastest fish on the planet, the sailfish, off Alphonse Atoll. Dive into the underwater Grand Canyon off the coast of Astov: a 6.5-kilometer-long wall is home to numerous sharks, rays, and green turtles, with underwater visibility reaching 40 meters. Visit Remire Island, home to an incredibly rich underwater world. Freediving, surfing, picnics in the shallows, and birdwatching await you on the Seychelles portion of the trip.
On Tanzania's Misali Island, spot vervet monkeys in the local forest, and on Kilwa Kisiwani, visit the ruins of the oldest mosque on the east coast of Africa and the Husuni Kubwa Palace, the largest in the region, with 100 rooms, running water, and a swimming pool. Ships laden with gold, timber, and ivory passed through Kilwa's port, bound for various parts of the Indian Ocean. It is not surprising that in 1332 the merchant Ibn Battuta described this city as one of the most beautiful he had visited.
