What traveler did not wish to see the second largest freshwater lake of the world and the largest lake in Africa, whose northern shore intersects the equator. The Lake Victoria was opened in 1858 by an English traveler and an African researcher, John Henning Speech. The lake area is 68,000 square kilometres, 320 kilometres long, 275 kilometres wide, and 80 metres of maximum depth allows Victoria to be considered one of the world ' s deepest lakes. Following the construction in 1954 of the Owen-Fols dam on the Victoria-Nil River, the lake was converted into a reservoir, resulting in an increase of 3 m.

Many islands scattered across the lake have become shelters for many birds. The lake has a multi-water river of Kagera, and the Victoria-Neil River flows. Victoria fills a small gap between the eastern and western sides of the Greater African Valley, with a huge amount of water from the rain, more than all its tributaries.

Nearly 30 million Aboriginals live near the lake. In the southern and western shores, the people of Wahaya lived, who had been able to grow coffee long before the Europeans arrived. Victoria ' s main ports: Entebbe (Uganda), Mwanza, Bukoba (Tanzania), Kisumu (Kenya), near the northern coast, Kampala, capital of Uganda.

There's a huge amount of crocodiles in the lake's waters. Victoria is the place of fossil fish lange living here 300 million years ago. It is the rarest fish that is a transition point in evolution, between conventional fish and terrestrial animals.

There are famous African reserves and national parks around the lake. The Rubondo National Park (Rubondo Island, 450 square kilometres) is the most interesting region for more than four hundred different bird species. You can see the orals, the scratches, the aist, the Ibis, the winters, the bachelors. The main living virtue is the shy antilops of Sitatung. The area of the lake is also the perfect place for ornithological safari. The guests are attracting here and the local residents a legend about the mysterious animal they've seen in Lake Victoria on several occasions. The big plumbing they call the bowwat was chasing fishermen's boats, trying to turn them over. They say one European who crossed the lake

The catererer even managed to see the huge head of this creature.

Tours on the boat, chimping, canoeing, regional and sporting fish catches (innill occuum - individual copies of up to 108 kg, tilapia), foot safari and bird surveillance. Because there are no large predatory animals and nosorogs, the ash safaris are safe. Water species nests and the unique diversity of butterfly can be observed.
