The first thing that draws attention to the man who came to Amsterdam on water is a huge futuristic corable, covered by a copper spade. It is the largest research centre in the Netherlands, known as Nemo. The Grand Interactive Museum was opened with the participation of Queen Beatrix in 1997 at the Dutch Institute of Industry and Technology. And now, in Nemo, children of all ages can " lively " to meet the basic laws of physics, biology, chemistry and other sciences.

Nemo organizers offer their small visitors an interactive knowledge of the human organism and various devices: DNA, flying cars, giant domino, chain reaction, computers, hairdressers, phones and other very interesting things.

All the National Centre ' s exhibits can be touched because it is through tactile that the best understanding of the peace, and knowledge of the nature ' s laws is in play. In addition, there is a Nemo-theatre in the centre where presentations, lectures and exhibitions are constantly being held.

However, interest is not only the interactive exhibit of the museum, but also the building itself. An impressive design was created on the project of the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano, author of the Pompidou Centre in Paris. Piano is a well-known fan of the demonstration of the communications of its structures. But if they are outsourced at the Pompidou Centre, the Nemos have seen steel closures, ventilation pipes and other functional parts of the building.

Having taken a guided tour to the Nemo National Centre, don't forget to go up on his step-by-step roof, it has a unique, fascinating view of the old Amsterdam and port. And it is unique that Nemo is the only relatively high building within the historical centre of the city.

By the way, the building of the Scientific Centre was not always green, but over the years of its existence, the copper cape was gradually covered by a patina in harmony with the surrounding maritime landscape.
