The tour will begin with a visit to the Museum of Japanese Swords - a small museum located in the Shibuya area, dedicated to samurai swords. This is the official museum of the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Sword Art. The Society's collection contains over 150 exhibits, the oldest of which were made in the Heian period (12th century), the latest - in the Meiji period (20th century). Some of the oldest swords are recognized as national treasures. Despite the fact that the swords were made for war, they were also considered works of art. The sword's special beauty is given by the so-called "hamon" - a wave pattern running along the entire blade of the sword. The museum has special lighting, under which the hamon shines most brightly; many compare this shine to the shine of a diamond. In the museum you can also see other exhibits: guards, hilts, protective equipment, helmets. It also shows the step-by-step production of swords.

Next, you will have lunch.

Then you will go to a master class on sword sharpening, where you can learn the basics of making a Japanese sword, and also try working with a samurai sword yourself. (can be replaced by an aikido lesson with a mentor).
