Amanwella is a secluded Aman beach resort on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, near the town of Tangalle. The name combines the Sanskrit "Aman" (peace) and the Sinhalese "wella" (beach), symbolizing tranquility and privacy. The resort is located in a coconut grove of about 37 acres, descending to a deserted beach. The resort is located on a quiet bay on the Indian Ocean, approximately 3.5 hours drive from Colombo airport, and is also accessible via Mattala airport (less than 1 hour), with the option of a seaplane flight to the nearby harbour
A 5-10 minute drive away is the fishing town of Tangalle, as well as nature reserves with turtle beaches and opportunities for safari, whale watching and water sports
