Holidays in Saas-Fee
Hotels
Saas-Fee is one of the highest resorts in Switzerland, a true delight for professional skiers.
What makes Saas-Fee so appealing?
The resort is located near the Vögletscher Glacier, ensuring consistent snowfall. However, the glacier has numerous crevasses, making off-piste skiing impossible. The resort's pistes are primarily characterized by their terrain. The most extreme sections are considered to be the glacier edges, including the Längfluh Spielboden and Egginer Joch.
There are also trails for intermediate skiers, with the Mittelalalin (3,500 meters above sea level) a popular choice. There are 8 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. There are also 52 winter hiking trails, 30 kilometers of snowshoe trails, and a 5-kilometer toboggan run.
The Allalin mountain is home to Switzerland's largest ice grotto (listed in the Guinness Book of World Records) with ice sculptures covering over 5,500 square meters. Among the attractions is a chapel where weddings are held.
A holiday in Saas-Fee offers more than just skiing; it also offers excellent opportunities for a truly winter getaway.
Every October, the resort hosts the Snowboarding World Cup, in December, freeride competitions and an international ice sculpture festival, and in February, the Ice Climbing World Cup takes place. In April, a festival of fun and music takes place at an altitude of 2,400 meters above sea level.
