The fleet area is 3,230 square kilometres.

Mountain circuits, open grasslands, forest grasslands are richly populated by the main members of Africa ' s wildlife. Here is the ancestral habitat of the lions, wild African dogs, giraffes, elephants, zebras, buffalons, antelope and crocodiles. In the southern part of the national park, it is possible to meet fugitives swimming in the waters of the natural basin. Mikumi ' s orbital space includes more than 300 bird species. Some of them are Euro-Asian migrants coming here from October to April.

In addition to other national parks in Tanzania, Mikumi is the traditional site of various kinds of safari, air tours and wildlife films.
