According to legend, Savudrija (Salvore in Italian) received its name thanks to the son of the German king Frederico Barborossa - Otto, who, after being defeated in a naval battle, escaped off its shores in 1177. «Salvo re» – the king is saved.
Savudrija is the westernmost point of Istria and all of Croatia. A green paradise surrounded by the Adriatic Sea on three sides. This rich red soil nourishes vineyards whose wines are widely known, and the sea generously gives its treasures, which can be enjoyed in all Savudrija restaurants, taverns and on the tables of locals.
