Herceg Novi is a famous resort in the southern part of the Adriatic at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor. Herceg Novi is a city of sun (more than 200 sunny days a year), flowers, greenery. The average annual temperature is +17 degrees C (in January +10 degrees, in July +26 degrees). The swimming season lasts from May to September, the water temperature during this period fluctuates from +22 to +26 degrees. The city has a population of over seven thousand people.
The city's landmark is the park, in which more than a hundred species of subtropical and tropical plants grow, many species of mimosa. In winter, the "Mimosa Festival" is held here, which lasts a whole month.
Herceg Novi was founded six hundred years ago, so many monuments of medieval architecture have been preserved here. Tourists can visit the Art Gallery and the Regional Museum.
In the Bay of Kotor is the island of Mamula with the famous Blue Cave and the wonderful sandy beach of Zanjic, surrounded by olive groves.
The turbulent history of this city is evidenced by its bastions: Forte Mare, Kanli Kula, Spanjola, as well as numerous architectural monuments, the most famous of which is the ancient Savina Monastery, built over 1000 years ago and a true treasure trove of artistic and cultural heritage.
